Volvo released new V60 D6 Plug-In Diesel-Electric Hybrid in Europe

Volvo has released more information as well as pricing in certain countries including Britain where it will be available for order from the beginning of 2012, with first deliveries expected in November. the new V60 D6 Plug-in Hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show this past March.

In the UK, the European market-only V60 D6 Plug-in Hybrid will cost between £45,000 and £50,000, not including the “Plug-in Car Grant” government subsidy.


Pegged as the world's first diesel-electric plug-in hybrid production model, V60 D6 features a 2.4-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel delivering 215HP and 440 Nm (324.5 lb-ft) of torque that drives the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission, and a 70HP electric motor, which draws energy from a 11.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, driving the rear axle.

Acura to unveil New RL Sedan at the 2012 New York Auto Show

Acura will debut a brand new replacement for its flagship RL sedan at the New York Auto Show in April of 2012, and which will go on sale in the fall.



The New Acura RL Sedan would be "relatively lightweight, nimble, and economical" and will feature Honda's new Electric Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system that uses a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine to power the front wheels and two electric motors for the rear wheels.

The new RL's appearance is said to resemble the TL on a larger scale, with the sedan's increased exterior dimensions being close to a BMW 5-Series while passenger space will be comparable to that of a 7-series.

Honda ILX sedan will be build in Indiana

The Acura ILX sedan will debut as a concept at the 2012 Detroit auto show next month, Honda said earlier Monday. It will replace the TSX and be marketed as the gateway to Acura's U.S. lineup.


The plant added output of the natural gas-powered Civic GX sedan in May 2009 and began building Civic sedans for export outside North America in September 2009.

Volkswagen Jetta hybrid, electric concept at Detroit show

Volkswagen is going to unveil an all-new electric concept car at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Auto Show next month.

Volkswagen Jetta hybrid powered by 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The car is scheduled to hit the US market in November 2012.

Porsche Cajun Spy shots now available

Porsche is still in early development stages with the body styling of the Cajun (an unofficial name, short for ‘Cayenne junior’) . It’s understood the Porsche Cajun will get various mechanical and cosmetic revisions over the Audi Q5.

Porsche has been spotted testing a prototype version of the upcoming Porsche ‘Cajun’ wearing an Audi Q5 body.
The Porsche Cajun is expected to launch sometime in 2014, with the possibility of a two-door version joining the line-up afterwards.

2013 SRT Viper will be available in late 2012

2013 SRT Viper are sketchy at this stage. It could be unveiled as early as next month’s Detroit auto show, although a debut at New York in April appears most likely at this stage.

Reports suggest the SRT Viper will be powered by an 8.7-litre V10 engine, potentially producing in excess of 450kW of power and 760Nm of torque.

Only ever built as a right-hand drive delicacy, the new Viper is unlikely to find its way to Australia without the help of a skilled converter.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is very similar in design to the latest Mercedes-Benz SLK. It features new, wider headlights, with a big flat bonnet blending down to the centre single-tier grille design.

The first official images of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class have been leaked online, showing the all-new shape in full detail.

The 2013 SL will be powered by a range of new turbocharged engines. It’s expected to get Mercedes-Benz’s 3.5-litre V6, and the new 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8. Full details will be unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show on January 9, before going on sale in Australia in the third quarter of 2012.

Spotlight: Infiniti JX

The JX is squarely aimed at drivers who need adaptable roominess in a vehicle but don’t want to sacrifice looks, amenities, performance or fuel efficiency. In short, it’s a practical premium alternative to a stodgy minivan or SUV.

Outside, the JX looks bold and capable, yet utterly appropriate in upscale urban environments or suburban driveways, with its dramatic front grille and crescent-cut D-pillar. In the cabin, the JX offers what is expected to be class-leading roominess. For example, Infiniti claims JX owners will be able to leave a child seat latched to the second row while getting in and out of the third. And that third row won’t be the traditionally dreaded “penalty box,” but will instead offer adult-sized room for all (aided by 5.5 inches of second row forward-back adjustability).

2012 Hyundai Azera

The first thing I thought when Hyundai pulled the wraps off of its new 2012 Azera here at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show was that it looked just like a Toyota Camry. Perhaps that's not totally fair, because as the large sedan spun slowly on its turntable, I also saw hints of Mazda6, Nissan Altima, and BMW 6-Series. For a brand like Hyundai that's been building a ton of steam over the last few years with its distinctive Sonata, Elantra, and Accent models, looking just like the competition is not a good thing.


Interestingly, the Azera was referred to as "the most dramatic example of the Fluidic Sculpture design language" during its unveiling. Whoever wrote that line on the prompter clearly hasn't seen the Veloster or the newly unveiled Genesis Coupe.

Jaguar XKR-S Convertible

Jaguar is rolling out what it claims is the most powerful and fastest convertible they have ever built at the Los Angeles Auto Show.


The heart of this fast cat is an upgraded version of the 5.0-litre supercharged AJ-V8 engine, which produces 550PS (405kW) and 502lb/ft (680Nm) of torque. This a power increase of 8 percent and torque increase of 9 percent over the Jaguar XKR. Driving the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox with Active Differential, this rockets the XKR-S Convertible to 60mph in 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

Hyundai will unveil the 2012 Hyundai Azera at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show this week, and Inside Line will provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes Webcast of the Hyundai press conference live from the auto show floor.

Maserati Quattroporte Limousine Found On EBay

Now here's a way to ruin a luxury sport sedan in perfect Italian, transforming it into a limousine and ending the day is always a corner at high speed.

This sorry looking Maserati Quattroporte, a favorite around here at MotorAuthority, had cut into the chassis and a half feet and several limousine body attached. Nothing looks natural about it and to make matters worse, the owner decided to install a Maserati Trident lit inside. At the very least matches the floor bright purple.

Some of its other features include seating for 10, a total of three TV sets, holders and champagne bar and a glass wall between the cab and the driver.

The sad part of history is that the Quattroporte is the Ferrari V-8 engine built seems to be completely intact, even though we're sure the engine is never able to reach its full potential more.

A shame, as the sedan in its original state would be the pride and joy of the fans of most cars.?

2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Interior Leaked

Earlier this month we had a detailed overview of the technology coming in the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class, the first automotive new car small family who are on their way to American shores in the future not too distant.

The new B-Class is scheduled to make its official debut in September at the World Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 before going on sale in Europe before the end of the year, but we can join many of its details today, thanks these leaks pictures of its interior.

An important detail is the lack of a conventional gearbox, which means that developers are probably going to design a car with a steering shaft dual-clutch gearbox. The move means that more of the interior was done in the cabin. Models sold in Europe, however, may offer an alternative to traditional manual transmission gear selector is mounted centrally on the left.

We can also see what appears to be a touchscreen-like iPad positioned on top of the central column of the dashboard. Design three-spoke steering, meanwhile, corresponds to that seen on the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS.

Finally, the air conditioning modules look very retro looks more like the units in the new SLK AMG supercar SLS.

SPIED: 2012 Bentley Continental GTC Speed

The upcoming 2012 Bentley Continental GTC Speed continues its…European tour as the British firm’s engineers have left the Alps and headed down to the Nurburgring racetrack for some high-speed tests.

The refreshed edition of the GTC Speed will incorporate all the styling cues seen on the regular coupe such as the Mulsanne-esque nose and lights, re-sculptured bumpers and body panels, the updated interior plus some model-specific changes.

While Bentley is keeping mum on the mechanical details of its Speed series, we expect the new GT coupe and GTC convertible models to gain some extra oomph through a higher-output version of the turbocharged W12 packing somewhere around 620-horses.

Review: 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG

The CLS is the car that spawned the generation of four- and five-door "coupes" on the road today. The Volkswagen CC, Aston Martin Rapide and even the Hyundai Sonata all owe a debt of gratitude to that four-wheeled elongated arch. But while the 2006 original was little more than a prettified version of the E-Class sedan, the all-new version has come to conquer more than the valet line at the country club.

The cabin has a less aggressive, more elegant appearance. It features the same, supposedly aircraft-inspired imagery that’s also found in the SLS supercar and is trimmed in stitched leather, lots of shiny metal and, in the case of my test vehicle, carbon fiber – the latter for a mere $2,835 extra. It’s such a far cry from the interior of the latest E-Class that you can’t help but think that they sandbagged that one to make the CLS look that much better.

With a bit more space between the wheels than the old CLS, there’s noticeably more legroom for the rear passengers – all two of them – and plenty of space overhead. An analog IWC clock on the dashboard adds a touch of retro class, but the foot-operated parking brake just seems like an anachronism. What’s under the hood is anything but.

All CLS models now come with twin-turbocharged, direct injected V8s. A 402 HP 4.7-liter in the CLS550, and a hand built 518 hp 5.5-liter in the $95,775 CLS63 AMG. The latter replaces the much-loved turbo-free 6.2-liter V8 of the outgoing model in the name of fuel efficiency. It’s a hard act to follow, if only because that one sounded like teen Thor’s garage death metal band.

As it turns out, the voice of the CLS63 still pretty awe inspiring. Turbos are usually too busy pressurizing intake air to remember to make the exhaust sound like anything, but that’s not the case here. Plus, the new powerplant packs 516 lb-ft of planet-spinning torque. Not impressed? A $6,990 performance package increases that to 590 lb-ft and tosses in an extra 32 hp along with a carbon fiber spoiler and engine cover, red brake caliper housings, sport steering wheel, a tighter suspension and a relaxing of the top speed limiter from 155 mph to 186 mph.

Audi Q3 production starts today

After an investment of €330 million in infrastructure and production facilities Audi started today the production of the new little Suv – the Q3.

According to the automaker a new 30,000 m2 (322,917 sq. ft.) body shop with 450 robots was just one of the many new facilities built. The Audi Q3 will help SEAT permanently fill the capacity of the Martorell plant. Around 100,000 Audi Q3 units will leave the three-shift assembly line in Martorell every year.

“The decision to produce the Audi Q3 in Spain signals our intention to continue our dynamic course of growth while also pursing a strategy of internationalization,” says Frank Dreves, AUDI AG Board Member for Production.


The start of Q3 production at the Martorell plant is a decisive milestone in the Audi brand’s history of success. As a production site, he added, Martorell has highly motivated employees and delivers top quality. “We are placing our utmost trust in the team building the Q3 here,” continues Dreves.

2012 Toyota Hilux unwrapped

The world most popular workhorse – Toyota Hilux introduced its 2012 facelift model for the European market. It gained a refreshed looks and a more powerful turbo diesel 2.5-litre D4-D engine.

For the exterior, a redesigned front grille in chrome, new bonnet, headlamps, front bumper, alloy wheels and door mirrors. Inside the car, Toyota restyled the dashboard and the instrument binnacle.

The engine specification of the Toyota Hilux can be dissimilar in our region comparing with the European market. However, the 2.5-litre D4-D engine is now fitted with variable nozzle turbocharger. As results, the pick-up truck now rated at 144hp at 3,600rpm and 343Nm at 2,000rpm. Moreover, both the 2.5-litre D-4D and 3.0-litre D-4D now equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
